Review article: Developing the Australian and New Zealand Guideline for Mild to Moderate Head Injuries in Children: An adoption/adaption approach

The Paediatric Research in Emergency Departments International Collaborative (PREDICT) released the Australian and New Zealand Guideline for Mild to Moderate Head Injuries Children 2021. We describe innovative practical methods used develop this guideline. Informed by GRADE-ADOLOPMENT ADAPTE frameworks, we adopted or adapted recommendations from multiple high-quality guidelines developed de novo recommendations. A Steering Committee a multidisciplinary Working Group of 25 key stakeholder representatives formulated guideline scope 33 clinical questions. identified four relevant source guidelines; their were mapped choice recommendation, if more than one addressed question, was based on its appropriateness, currency literature, access evidence, relevance. Updated literature searches 440 new studies evidence identified. decision adopted, supporting evidence-base transferability local setting. underwent 12-week consultation period. final consisted 35 evidence-informed 17 consensus-based 19 practice points.
